Grant Description

On September 27, 2011, the governments of Liberia and China signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) through which China granted RMB 100 million (about USD 16 million) to Liberia. Acting Foreign Minister Sylvester M.

Grigsby signed on behalf of Liberia while Li Zhigong, Charge d' Affairs of the Chinese Embassy, signed for his government.

Of the RMB 100,000,000, RMB 40,000,000 million was distributed to purchase two sets of Nuctech Mobile Container/Vehicle Inspection Systems (see Record ID #24920).

USD 1.4 million (about RMB 9,044,000) is reported to have gone towards the provision of technical assistance, maintenance, training, and equipment for the Liberian Broadcast System (see Record ID #30313). The allocation of the remaining roughly RMB 51 million is unknown.
