The Tree Crop Project was designed to build on past efforts to expand the production of high-value temperate fruits. While continuing to focus on improving production, the project is largely meant to be a market-oriented activity.
The major challenge facing the Tree Crop Project, awarded to Tetra Tech under the Rural and Agricultural Incomes with a Sustainable Environment (RAISE) Plus IQC, is to build the capacity of smallholder farmers to understand the marketplace and to assist them to more effectively engage actors along the value chain.
