EDI is working toward the goal of Egyptian decentralization at both the national and local levels of government seeking to achieve a number of concrete objectives including: (i) Increased Egyptian financial resources available to local government for responding to community priorities; (ii) Enhanced participatory mechanisms to plan, allocate, and monitor the use of resources; and (iii) Strengthened administrative capacity and legal framework for local government to effectively and transparently manage resources.
