Grant Description

Chinese premier loans Ghana US$66 million for projects On June 18, 2006, an unspecified sector of the Chinese Government pledges to loan the Government of Ghana $66 million USD with low interest to fund a telecommunications upgrade as well as other projects in the country, including a $38 million USD expansion and upgrading of the telecommunication network (#43357), and the construction of a primary school and a malaria center (#1745).

The money is also going toward programs to send Chinese doctors and medical workers to Ghana. It is unclear if the loan was successfully used and how it was implemented.
