On February 14, 2003, the Government of China agreed to provide a $275 million USD grant to help develop the health, delivery system, agriculture, and industry of Zimbabwe through state-of-the-art medical equipment, drugs, and training of specialists.
The Chinese Government was represented by Deputy Minister of Health, Wang Longde, while Zimbabwe was represented by Minister of Health and Child Welfare, Dr. David Parirenyatwa. It's unclear whether any funds were eventually committed, and if so, for what purpose(s).
