Grant Description

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Support for Peaceful Democratization Program (SPD) was implemented by Development Alternatives, Inc. (DAI) under the Support Which Implements Fast Transition II (SWIFT II) IQC. This program assisted local organizations in their work to address violent conflict across Indonesia.

While a range of conflicts affect every society, SPD addressed violent conflicts between groups with incompatible interests regarding the distribution of resources, control of power and participation in political decision making, identity, status, or values. SPD support was rapid and flexible, addressing urgent needs and overarching causes of conflict.
