Grant Description

China pledged US$10 million in aid to Liberia following the resumption of diplomatic ties in 2003.

The money was to fund a water reservoir, vehicles, power generators and efforts to improve food production capacity in the country. Since the announcement in 2003, there has been no verification of the mentioned projects in the media.

The two officials involved were Lu Guozeng, China's assistant minister for African affairs, and Gyude Bryant of Liberia.
