Grant Description

The International Disaster and Famine Assistance (IDFA) account provides funds for the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA).

OFDA manages relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction assistance to foreign countries struck by natural and man-made disasters and supports disaster prevention, mitigation and preparedness.

OFDA's program places emphasis on complex emergencies, a product of ethnic and national tensions leading to civil strife and the displacement of large numbers of people.
