Grant Description

This project will provide advice to help strengthen the institutional capacity of Argentinas newly created Public Private Partnership (PPP) Unit, which resides in the Ministry of Finance.

The potential pipeline of PPP projects in Argentina is very large, with an initial pipeline of 100+ projects with investment of $50+ billion, reflecting a backlog of infrastructure needs accumulated over more than ten years.

Objectives include: Training and professional development of staff; assist staff in writing policies, guidelines and manuals for PPP structuring in risk allocation, standards for evaluation and procurement; develop guidelines for best practices; and support government institutions at various levels that have limited experience with PPPs.
