Technical Assistance for Budget and Financial Accountability, Government Debt Issuance and Management

This project is to promote and support the development of modern budget and treasury operations worldwide; improve the capacity for effective cash forecasting by providing TA on methods of budget execution and forecasting, integration of cash and debt management, elements of an investment policy, creating the legal and regulatory framework, improving communications and data sharing, averting cash crises, and other activities that support institutional capacity building; customize sessions to specific technical assistance needs, as defined by OTA Resident Advisors and their counterparts; link project outcomes to OTA program goals.

These include, among others, the development of a domestic securities market, upgrading banking relationships, and improving budget planning , forecasting and execution; support resident advisors and showcase OTA technical assistance to prospective countries, paving the way for other technical assistance assignments; and promote interdisciplinary cooperation within the OTA.
