Grant Description
Chinese Government provides interest-free loan through ETCA for unspecified projects in Togo On June 24, 2004, during the visit of the Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong, two Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreements (ETCAs) were signed with the Togolese President, Gnassingbé Eyadéma. One ETCA provided a grant (see record #2171) while the other provided an interest-free loan.
The allocation and amount for this interest-free loan were unspecified, although the "Joint Communique of the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Togo," reports that it will be used to resolve funding problems of projects agreed to by the two countries.
Additionally, during the visit a framework agreement was signed regarding a preferential loan for the Adjarala Hydroelectric Dam project (see record #2170).
