The Global Procurement Initiative: Understanding Best Value (GPI) Procurement Assistance Program for Kenya is a national-level Program made up of three components: (1) virtual trainings composed of 12 webinars or forums organized into three mini-series, (2) a three day in-country workshop in Nairobi and (3) a 12-13 -calendar day study tour to the United States for public procurement leaders.
The goal of the Program is to build upon technical skills required to be able to procure infrastructure utilizing value-based evaluation methods and life-cycle cost analysis.
A three-year Memorandum of Understanding would be signed with Kenya's National Treasury and Planning Ministry to establish the Government of Kenya as the 14th GPI partner country under the Global Procurement Initiative.
The Program will be carried out in collaboration with Kenya's National Treasury and Planning Ministry, the George Washington University Law School's Government Procurement Law Program and USTDA's GPI technical specialists.
