USTDA funding is supporting a series of eight technical workshops on food regulations and registration for officials from the China Food and Drug Administration.
The workshops will serve as a forum where representatives from U.S. industry and government engage Chinese counterparts to collaborate on best practices, standards and policy development, as well as commercial opportunities within the agriculture and food products sector.
This memorandum serves as a no-cost grant amendment to the Grant Agreement for the U.S.-China Agriculture and Food Partnership Program (AFP) Workshop Series, which was approved for funding by USTDA in June 2017.
The amendment would change the Grantee to the Human Resources Development Center of the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), which, following a widespread government organization in 2018, has assumed responsibilities related to food safety supervision in China.
