Grant Description

This feasibility study (FS) grant partially funds setting up an ethanol conversion plant at the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL)'s Panipat oil refinery.

The plant will be based on the sole-source U.S. contractor LanzaTech's proprietary process to convert refinery off-gases to ethanol that will be blended with transportation fuels.

Once implemented, the project will produce fuel-grade ethanol from waste gases, reduce carbon emissions in vehicles using the ethanol blend transportation fuel, and reduce particulate emissions at the refinery.
