Grant Description

This grant funds a feasibility study for the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), an Indian public research and development institute, to develop two ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) power plants to provide baseload electricity in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in India (Project).

The study will help NIOT develop a conceptual design and cost estimates, identify potential financing sources and U.S. suppliers, and assess the environmental and developmental impacts for the Project.
