This grant funds a feasibility study for Mzuzu WF Limited that will assess the viability of a 50-megawatt wind energy project and a 100 megawatt-hour battery energy storage system near the city of Mzuzu in the northern region of Malawi.
It will be one of the country's first utility-scale wind energy generation facilities and will significantly augment the country's current generation capacity of 442 MW while helping stabilize the national energy grid and enhance resilience to climate change.
