Grant Description

This grant funds a feasibility study for the Electricity System Operator EAD ("ESO"), Bulgaria's state-owned transmission and distribution company, to develop four new 400 kilovolt ("kV") transmission lines, each with the capacity to export 2,000 MW of power.

The results of the feasibility study are expected to support ESO in planning to increase its export capacity and in phasing out fossil fuels, which would lead to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and support the country's decarbonization goals.
