On April 25th, 2024, a seminar for emergency management (首期中亚五国安全风险防范交流培训) commenced in Urumqi, China. 39 officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan participated in the training. The seminar lasted for 5 days.
Subjects covered included production safety, fire rescue, emergency management systems and mechanisms, legal development, systemic risk management.
This project is a continuation of the Xi'an Declaration of the China-Central Asia Summit, signed in May of 2023 and marking an agreement between these nations to further multilateral cooperation.
Following the conclusion of this seminar the five countries established a China-Central Asia emergency management cooperation mechanism in May 2024 to better combat natural disasters.
The committment date marks the signature day of the Xi'an Declaration.
