Grant Description

Date: 06 July 2023Subject: Grant Application for Open Access Funding of “Managing Sustainable Luxury and Digitalization: Technology Trends and Ethical Challenges in the Swiss Luxury Watch Business”Dear Madam or Sir,As Assistant Professor of International Management at Franklin University Switzerland, I am writing to submit a grant application to request funding for the open access publication of the upcoming book entitled “Managing Sustainable Luxury and Digitalization: Technology Trends and Ethical Challenges in the Swiss Luxury Watch Business,” co-authored with Prof.

Peter Seele, Università della Svizzera italiana (USI).Our book offers new transdisciplinary perspectives on luxury, exploring the topical phenomenon of digitally retouched (censored) and blockchain-secured (sensored) luxury watches and outlining implications that emerge for the field of luxury studies and managerial practice.

It is a comprehensive work that can be of value to academics, scholars, and upper-level students across management studies with a particular interest in the luxury and fashion industries, luxury management, brand management, business ethics, and digital transformation. Our goal as authors is to enhance the visibility and impact of the book by making it open access.

This way, we can reach a wider audience and encourage more meaningful engagement with the book's ideas and research on sustainable luxury management.

Given the book's particular focus on the Swiss luxury watch sector, we believe that making the book freely accessible through open access publishing will have a transformative impact on disseminating knowledge in the mentioned fields of study within and beyond Switzerland.

The open availability of the book can help researchers, students, and professionals access and use the knowledge presented, which can lead to advancements in research and education of luxury management overall. To ensure the successful realization of our goal, we seek a grant of £10,000/€12,000 (approx.

CHF 11,400) to cover the costs associated with open access publishing with Routledge Taylor and Francis. The fee is based on the attached quote for our book from our Taylor & Francis Group editor.

Please note that there would be no applicable VAT, and the amount can be invoiced in either GBP or EUR.Thank you for your time and attention.

As authors, we firmly believe that through your support, we can significantly advance knowledge dissemination and promote open access in our field.Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact me at +41 76 322 84 65 or [email protected] you once again for your kind consideration.Sincerely,Mario D.
