Grant Description

The project’s intent is to replace the existing air handling unit 008 on the roof as the base effort. This unit provides air to the first-floor labs. As an option, the project will also include the replacement of the existing air handling equipment in the attic space (existing air handling units SAHU 001, 002, 003, 004, and 006). These equipment within the attic space serve the conventional and the barrier animal room systems within the building.

1.2 All of the air handling equipment are outdated and in need of an upgrade. The laboratory facility is served by SAHU008, which was replaced in the early 1990’s and is at the end of its useful life, as well as various exhaust fan units.
