Grant Description
On September 6, 2023, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China signed an MoU with Pakistan entitled "‘Provision of Goods Under South-South Cooperation for Addressing Climate Change." Under the MoU, China would support Pakistan through the provision of 5,000 sets of Solar Home Systems; a set of Integrated Meteorological Observation Stations; and a set of Integrated Cloud-based Early Warning Systems.
In addition, China would offer capacity-building programmes for the officials of the Government of Pakistan. Record ID #107293 contains further information on the other assistance provided under this MOU.
On April 16, 2024, the 5,000 sets of Solar Home Systems were delivered by Lattice Technology Co., Ltd of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP).
Each set included monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic modules, lithium iron phosphate batteries, solar controllers, inverters, LED lamps, power boxes, photovoltaic brackets, among other components. Installation experts accompanied the delivery to help with set up. The systems will go to Balochistan province.
