From March 12 to 23, 2018, the first "International Training Workshop to Demonstrate and Promote New Technologies and Vegetable Varieties for Latin American Countries" was held at the University of Costa Rica (UCR) in San José.
The event was hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, Anhui Jianghuai Horticulture Seeds Co., Ltd., Anhui Agricultural University, UCR's Center for Grain and Seed Research (CIGRAS), and UCR's Agricultural Research Institute (IIA).
The workshop focused on enhancing the technical capacity of agricultural personnel from Costa Rica, Mexico, Cuba, El Salvador, Ecuador, Panama, Nicaragua, and Honduras, with training in seed technologies, grain quality, and modern agricultural production techniques.
1. This project is the first in a confirmed series of training workshops funded by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology and implemented with Latin American institutions. Subsequent iterations include a 2023 version (see record ID #103632). No data available yet on a second iteration, possibly held between 2019–2022.
