Grant Description

On June 8, 2023, the Myanmar Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar signed "The Agreement on the Transfer of Fund for Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2023) Projects." One of these projects was the project "Strengthening the Construction of National Certification Systems," which the Myanmar Ministry of Science and Technology received an unspecified amount of money to implement.

The project's goal is to improve the capabilities of certification agencies in order to promote trade.

The project's implementation involved a training course for employees of these agencies, which was attended by 30 people from Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia, and a field research phase in China. The training took place from October 29, 2024 to November 4, 2024.
