Grant Description

On June 8, 2023, the Myanmar Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar signed "The Agreement on the Transfer of Fund for Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2023) Projects." One of these projects was the project "RCEP Understanding and Practical Exchange Seminar", which the Myanmar Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations received an unspecified amount of money to implement.

The project's goal is to educate and connect public and private sector actors in countries that are part of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), a free trade agreement that includes all LMC countries as well as Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand.

The implementation of the project consisted of a three-day seminar in Nay Pyi Taw that commenced on February 26, 2024.
