PROJECT SUMMARY/ABSTRACT - Core A (Administrative Core), The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston The Administrative Core is responsible for the overall management and coordination of the Research and Development of Vaccines and Monoclonal Antibodies for Pandemic Preparedness (ReVAMPP) Center:

“Paramyxoviridae and Bunyavirales Vaccines and Antibodies Center” (PABVAX). It provides governance, operational management, and financial oversight functions to facilitate the execution of the overall research plan and goals, thereby enabling the Center to fulfill its mission to develop effective vaccine and antibody-based

countermeasures for select virus prototypes within the Paramyxoviridae and Bunyavirales. The Administrative Core will provide an organizational and programmatic structure to promote research productivity and synergy through scientific interactions. The Administrative Core will provide oversight in setting Center priorities, including

decision making processes involving the continual evaluation of research and translational product development activities. Administrative Core personnel will ensure that the Center is compliant with issues involving the use of vertebrate animals and human subjects and ensure that regulatory expertise is available for associated

translational activities. Management activities will also be expected to be routinely carried out with the guidance of the Scientific Advisory Board, in collaboration with the appropriate NIAID program administrators, to facilitate go and no-go project decisions. Teleconferencing and videoconferencing will be maximally utilized to facilitate

communication between the University of Texas Medical Branch, the lead institution for the Center, and all other participating institutions and organizations.
