Grant Description

In June 2023, the 9th People's Liberation Army Medical Team arrived in Laos for a six-month mission.

The team worked at Military Hospital 103 of the LPA (Lao People's Army) and consisted of 10 members, including specialists in cardiovascular medicine and surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, hematopathology, orthopedics, gastroenterology and other medical fields. The team left in December of 2023.

Along with providing medical services and sharing expertise, the team also established a chest pain center and held a medical academic exchange conference. On December 1st, 2023, the medical team was awarded a Grade II Medal of Valor by the LPA in Vientiane.
