From September 3rd to 7th, 2023, the National Financial Regulatory Administration held a 5-day seminar called Belt and Road Banking Regulatory Seminar for 19 officials from bank regulatory agencies in Malaysia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Macau attended.
It was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
Seminar topics covered Chinese banking regulations, technology, green finance, financial consumer protection, and inclusive finance.
The officials also visited Chengdu International Railway Port and Chinese banks to learn about the Belt and Road initiative and local economic development.
The seminar aimed to foster discussions on financial and economic development, strengthening mutual understanding between participating countries.
