Grant Description

In March 2023, the Chinese Embassy donated PHP 15 million to the Filipino Office of the Provincial Agriculturist for a project to improve aquaculture technologies and resources for fishing villages in Bohol, the Philippines.

The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist collaborated with researchers from the South China Sea Fisheries Research Institute and the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences and conducted a 3-day site visit to the proposed beneficiary areas in Ubay, the Philippines from March 25 to 26.

The project aims to increase the standard of living of fishers by introducing new approaches to fishery management and enhancing skills that will help increase fish production and the environmental protection of marine resources.
