Grant Description

On April 28, 2023, a pre-training reception was held for 57 Liberian public-sector professionals who would soon travel to China for short-term training.

The trainees included 25 employees from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 25 employees from the General Police Department, and 7 medical practitioners from the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Medical Center. The trainees were scheduled to leave for Beijing on May 5, 2023.

Among those present at the ceremony were Dee Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Ansu Sonii, and Wilhelmina Jallah, Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Education, and Health respectively, as well as Patrick Sudue, Inspector General of the Liberian National Police, Nyenati Tuan, Deputy Minister of Justice, Jerry Brown, CEO and General Administrator of JFK Medical Center, and representatives of the 15th Chinese medical team to Liberia.

The training program was a part of the overall China-Aid Human Resource Training program where the Chinese government provides educational opportunities and training to government officials of different countries.

Moreover, immediately preceding the pre-training reception, a ceremony was held for the donation of nutritional supplies (see Record ID #103325).
