Grant Description

On August 29, 2023, the opening ceremony of the Agricultural Service Center in Goris was held.

China’s contribution to the project included the provision of a 40kW solar station to reduce electricity costs and improve productivity at the facility as well as online technical training delivered by Chinese experts to enhance local farmers' cultivation skills.

This project is part of a broader WFP effort to strengthen agricultural value chains in Armenia by reducing post-harvest losses, improving market access for farmers, and promoting climate-adaptive farming techniques.

This initiative, implemented by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in partnership with the Government of Armenia, Goris Municipality, and the Joint SDG Fund, aims to enhance food security and sustainable farming practices.
