Grant Description

In 2023, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) agreed to provide an RMB 35 million grant to the government of Laos for the provision of 77 vehicles and IT equipment for the 2024 ASEAN Summit and sideline meetings in Vientiane, Laos.

On March 11, 2024, the handover ceremony of the supplies took place at the National Convention Centre by the Charge d’Affaires ad interim at the Chinese Embassy to Laos, Mr. Wang Chang, to Laos’ Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith, in the presence of high-ranking officials representing the two governments.
