The “Gaopiao Future” mobile clinic public welfare project, organized and planned by the CITIC Consortium team, was recently launched in the Kyaukphyu area of Rakhine State, Myanmar.
This initiative aims to address the critical shortage of medical services in the region by providing free health consultations and treatments.
The project began with nearly 70 villagers from the first consultation village receiving medical care from three general practitioners from the People’s Hospital of Kyaukphyu County. This launch marks a significant step towards improving healthcare access for underserved populations in the area.
Prior to the project’s commencement, the CITIC Consortium team held a special meeting with local stakeholders, including health departments, parent associations, social organizations, and volunteers.
This collaborative effort allowed the project team to gather valuable insights and suggestions from the community to ensure the project would meet the local population’s needs effectively.
Funded by the Foreign Aid Department of Yunnan, China, the project is being implemented by the People’s Hospital of Kyaukphyu County in cooperation with the local civil organization KSEDAA.
Over the next four months, the mobile clinic will travel to 20 villages surrounding the Kyaukphyu area, offering free medical consultations, diagnosis, and treatment services.
This initiative is crucial in addressing the lack of doctors and medicine in the region, significantly improving access to healthcare for local communities.
