Grant Description

On November 6, 2018, the United Nation's International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Chinese Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS) began an initiative to provide a long-term skills development and employment support to three SE Asian countries; namely Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar.

The MOHRSS donated USD $3,999,960 to the ILO to fund the initiative. Under the project, a Skills Development Network was launched on 10 November 2021.

Supported by the ILO and MOHRSS, the network currently brings together 22 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutes from China, Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Myanmar. The initiative was expected to be complete by the end of 2025.

  • Lao PDR and Myanmar through South-South and triangular cooperation Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
