Grant Description

On 29 November 2016, Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group awarded scholarships worth a total of $2,500 USD to nine students at Addis Ababa University. Xiao Xiao, XCMG East Africa Regional Manager presented the scholarships to students. The students were mechanical engineering and Chinese language majors.

Award distribution was as follows "one first-prize winner, and three second-prize winners getting $200 respectively." The scholarship was facilitated through the Confucius Institute at Addis Ababa University. The scholarship was to be awarded for three consecutive years, with the overall amount remaining the same each year.

The scholarships are part of XCMG's Global Public Welfare Project's Global Scholarship initiative, which also provided scholarships to students in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Cambodia, and Iran.
