Grant Description

On April 4, 2023, the 23rd Chinese medical team in Rwanda donated a consignment of medical supplies to Masaka Hospital in the Kicukiro district in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda.

The donation included hand disinfectant, dental treatment equipment, medical isolation goggles, disposable sterile operating overalls, and electric operating table. The monetary value is unknown.

In a handover ceremony, Zhao Shangjun, the leader of the Chinese medical team, presented the donation to Masaka Hospital's Director General Jean Damascene Hanyurwimfura.

The 23rd Chinese medical team was part of China's effort to provide medical aid to Rwanda since 1982 (see Record ID#101640). It was stationed at Masaka Hospital and Kibungo Hospital from December 28, 2022 to December 18, 2023.
