Grant Description

On April 19, 2023, Huang Runqiu, Minister of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and Lee James Taylor-White, Minister of the Ministry of Rivers, Forests, Oceans, Environment, Climate Planning, and Land Planning of the Gabonese Republic (referred to as the "Ministry of Water and Forests"), signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation to carry out South-South Cooperation Material Assistance Projects to address Climate Change in Beijing.

According to the MOU, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment will grant a batch of materials related to climate change response to the Ministry of Water Resources and Forestry of Gabon, offering practical assistance for Gabon to actively address climate change and achieve green and low-carbon development.

This initiative supports President Xi Jinping's "Ten Hundred Thousand" program and "Belt and Road" climate cooperation plans and aligns with the "Declaration on China-Africa Cooperation on Combating Climate Change."
