On July 24, 2023, the Government of China partnered with the Government of Mauritius to support the digital transformation of Mauritius Post Ltd., the country’s national postal service.
As part of this initiative, China committed to providing in-depth technical training to Mauritius Post staff to equip them with the skills needed to locally implement new digital systems.
The training falls under the broader “e-post project,” which seeks to modernize core postal operations by introducing parcel tracking, online claims processing, and digital payment services. These upgrades aim to enhance service efficiency, speed up parcel delivery, and improve customer experience.
The initiative reflects Mauritius's strategy to revitalize its postal services through international cooperation and aligns with regional efforts to foster digital innovation in the postal and logistics sector.
The collaboration was announced by the Mauritian Minister of Information Technology, Communication, and Innovation, Darsanand Balgobin, during a bilateral meeting with a Chinese government delegation.
