Grant Description

On March 24, 2023, the Fijian and Chinese Governments held a handover ceremony for a batch of clean energy equipment—including 4,300 LED streetlight heads, 50 light poles, and 2,000 household solar power systems. The total value was RMB 20 million. The donation aims to reduce Fiji’s reliance on fossil fuels and support its climate resilience goals.

This handover is part of and follows the signing of the broader Memorandum of Understanding on Material Assistance for South-South Cooperation in Addressing Climate Change between China and Fiji in May 2022.
