Grant Description
In November 2022, the Republic of Congo welcomed the 29th Chinese Medical Team to Congo (Brazzaville) from Tianjin. The team, comprised of 30 members, was sent by the Municipal Health Commission and spent one year in Congo.
Members were trained in political ideology, language, business, team building, comprehensive quality of care, strengthened cardiac first aid, epidemic prevention, and control skills before starting their service.
The farewell ceremony for the 29th team was held on November 14, 2023 and about 120 people were in attendance, including a representative of the Congolese Minister of Health and President of the Sino-Congolese Friendship Hospital Benjamin Ngagono.
On the same day of the farewell party for the 29th team, the 30th Chinese medical team was welcomed and their time in Congo is captured in Record ID#103857. Since 1967, China has sent 30 medical teams comprising of over 900 medical personnel to the Republic of Congo.
