Grant Description
On May 19, 2023, the first "China-Africa Join Hands to Warm Children's Hearts—Love for Children in the Central African Republic" event was held at the Presidential Palace of the Central African Republic.
The donated materials included medicines, school bags, stationery, sports equipment and were delivered to more than 200 orphans from 4 welfare institutions in the Central African Republic. The monetary value of the donated items are unknown.
The purpose of the project was to support the welfare of children in the Central African Republic as well as foster better relations between the two countries.
The event was jointly hosted by the President of the Central African Republic, Faustin-Archange Touadéra, the first lady, Tina Marguerite Touadéra, and Chinese Ambassador Li Qinfeng.
With nearly 200 people in attendance, those present at the event included the mayor of the seventh district of Bangui, representatives from the Central African Ministry of National Education, all diplomats of the Chinese Embassy, the 19th Chinese medical team, and other Chinese enterprises Record ID #104572 captures a second donation associated with this project.
