On January 31, 2023, the handover ceremony for the donation of firefighting equipment from China to Kyrgyzstan occurred.
The equipment included 100 firefighting vehicles and various firefighting materials, including emergency rescue fire trucks, heavy-duty foam fire trucks, and 50-meter ladder fire trucks, as well as 5-ton water trucks, 8-ton rescue vehicles, firefighting vehicles with a 50-meter tower, rescue cushions, and suspended tanks for helicopters.
The breakdown of the vehicles consists of 85 fire engines, 10 of which are 8 tons and 75 are 5 tons; 10 emergency rescue vehicles; 3 50-meter ambulances; and 2 vehicles for the headquarters. The 5-ton fire engines can be prepared with foam water that can spray up to 60 meters to suppress fire.
Each of these is equipped with 5 sets of helmets and firemen's clothes and other equipment, including water sleeves of different lengths, air helmets for protection against gas and smoke, and walkie-talkies. The 8-ton engines can spray 50-100 liters of water per second. The emergency rescue vehicles can tow loads of up to 5 tons and have special lights for working in the dark.
These 100 vehicles were given as a grant from China, but the donation coincided with Kyrgyz purchases of more Chinese vehicles, including passenger, emergency, and agricultural vehicles. Russia also gave USD 20 million worth of vehicles at the same time.
1. The monetary value of this donation is unknown.
