On February 25, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in Costa Rica handed over the donation of an electric vehicle to the Costa Rican government, particularly the Presidential Palace, located in San José, at the 2023 Costa Rican Electric Vehicle Citizens Festival.
The donated electric vehicle is a modern GAC AION (V PLUS) single-traction SUV; it is 100% electric, can travel 600 km per charge, and has 8 airbags. The estimated cost of this provision is ¢24 million CRC.
