Grant Description

On July 27, 2023, during China's Special Envoy Minister Tang Renjian's visit to the Federated States of Micronesia, Minister Tang confirmed the Chinese government's preparation to provide another USD 2 million cash grant to the FSM Trust Fund to help support Micronesia's long-term fiscal solvency and Chinese-Micronesian friendship.

The FSM Trust Fund was established in 2003 under the Compact of Free Association with the United States to promote Micronesian economic development and self-reliance through an annual source of revenue. The priorities of the Fund are to assist with the education and health care sectors in Micronesia.
