MOFCOM signs ETCA with Sierra Leone Ministry of Foreign Affairs for trade improvement and nation-building purposes in February 2022 On February 11, 2022, Chinese ambassador to Sierra Leone, Hu Zhangliang, and Sierra Leone's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Professor David John Francis, signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA).

The purpose of the ETCA is to decrease trade costs, strengthen purchasing power of consumers in both countries, improve availability of goods and services, and facilitate nation building.
