On March 30, 2022, the National Development and Reform Commission of China published an article explaining that Chinese companies plan to design, purchase, and construct a wind power project that includes 55 wind turbines each with a 4.2 MW capacity (231 MW capacity in total), known as the Skadimovac-Glamoc wind power project.
The project will support grid-connected facilities, and represents Xi Jinping's commitment to supporting green energy projects over non-renewable energy projects. This project would be the largest wind power base in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project is planned to be constructed 115 km from Sarajevo on the Skadimovac ridge area just southwest of the Federal Glamoc Administrative District with an average altitude of 1460 meters. The project is a collaboration between China Power Construction Group Co. Ltd. and local developers, and the preliminary work is progressing steadily.
On August 13, 2021, Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA) signed an EPC contract on the Wind Power Plant SKADIMOVAC-GLAMOC in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A consortium of POWERCHINA Sinohydro Bureau 7 Co., Ltd and POWERCHINA Hubei Engineering Co., Ltd will be responsible for the construction.
