Grant Description

On November 9, 2023, a launching ceremony was held for the Children's Cavities Prevention and Effect Evaluation Research Project conducted by the 18th Chinese Medical Team to Sao Tome and Principe. The project was intended to improve awareness of oral health and reduce the rate of cavities in the country.

The project was planned to be carried out over the course of one year, and involved surveying Sao Tome children on their oral health and hygiene habits, as well as holding 20 classes on cavity prevention and direct interventions to address tooth decay in approximately 2,000 children. Once completed, a research report would be submitted to the local health department with their findings.
