Grant Description
On May 31, 2022, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motors Ltd. — a holding subsidiary of Dongfeng Automobile Group Co., Ltd. — along with 25 other Chinese companies in Rwanda joined the Rwanda Overseas Chinese Association (ROCA) in donating a total of Rwf 35,000,000 in school supplies, cash, and gifts to Tanda Primary and Secondary School (GS Tanda) in the Gicundi District of Rwanda's Northern Province.
The donation was put together by the Rwandan Chinese Association.
The first part of the donation had a monetary value of Rwf 15,000,000 and consisted of stationary, food, beverages, and shoes, along with other classroom supplies, daily necessities, and gifts. The second part of the donation was a cash donation worth Rwf 20,000,000. The donation was given to approximately 1,500 students at the school.
Among the Chinese enterprises who contributed to the donation, excluding Dongfeng Liuzhou Motors, were Carcarbaba, Choice Logistics, Landy Industries (R) Ltd., Master Health, Trend Construction Company Ltd., Guangzhou Homart Industrial Ltd., D Mall Hotel, Far East Logistics, Beijing Paper Corporation Ltd., China Star Construction (Rwanda) Co.
Ltd., and Brother Building Materials Ltd..
