Chinese Embassy in Burundi held handover ceremony for the completion of the second phase of the 10,000 African Villages Project (Linked to Record ID#73382 and Record ID#102244)

On June 20, 2022, the Chinese Embassy in Burundi held the handover ceremony of the second phase of the 10,000 African Villages project in Burundi.

The ceremony marked the provision of digital television sets, projectors, and receiving terminals (decoders) to 200 additional villages in Burundi. According to the Chinese Embassy in Burundi, the second phase was completed in March 2022. Details of the first phase, which included donations to 300 villages, can be found at Record ID#73382.

The ceremony was held in Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi.

Simultaneously during the ceremony, the Chinese Ambassador to Burundi signed a handover certificate for the donation of 190,000 sets of digital TV terminal receiving products to Burundi (see Record ID#102244).

On average, each assisted village was allocated two sets of projectors, one set of digital TV equipment and 20 home set-top boxes for installation in public places such as hospitals, governments, churches, etc.
