Grant Description

Following a meeting in July 2022 between Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Azizbek Madmarovand Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen, it was decided that stage 2 of the Chui bypass canal would be funded through a grant of 346 million yuan provided by the Chinese government. The grant will be allocated in spring 2023.

The bypass canal will run along canal-1 in Kemin district, along Kyzyl-Oktiabr, Bystrovka, Kashkelen, and Ak-Beket villages, and will be 22 km in length. On August 14, 2022, it was announced that Yellow River Engineering Consulting Co. Ltd. will implement the project.
