AVE is a UK-based climate DeepTech SME led by Matthew Tucker (technical lead), Simon Oliver (project lead) and Clifford Smith (project exploitation manager).
Costly and inefficient carbon capture solutions prevent industries from meeting their net-zero targets. As a result, large UK businesses pay an annual average of £850K for carbon credits and regulatory compliance, with costs inevitably passed to consumers. Developing a new direct air capture system that uses less energy to capture more CO2 is vital for environmental sustainability and global economies.
To this end, AVE is developing the world's first infrared, absorbent material vacuum regeneration chamber to reduce CO2 capture costs by 35%. It will help many low-income communities in areas with high atmospheric pollution and poor air quality. AVE will be the first to optimise CO2 capture through advanced real-time monitoring to reduce operational costs and utilise waste heat and renewable energy to decrease carbon footprints.
In this way, it will address industry demands for cost-effective solutions that meet sustainability requirements.
